In a previous blog post, I gave some highlights from The Conference Board’s 2013 CEO Challenges report showing that “Human Capital” and other people-centric issues dominate the list of CEOs’ top challenges and strategies.
So of course I was interested to see the results of the 2014 CEO Challenges study. I haven’t seen the full report yet, but according to this overview on The Conference Board web site, Human Capital is once again CEOs’ top challenge:
“The top five challenges selected by the 1020 respondents to this year’s survey are Human Capital, Customer Relationships, Innovation, Operational Excellence and Corporate Brand and Reputation.”
We’ll keep an eye out for the 2014 report so we can provide highlights. It will be very interesting to see what strategies CEOs will be using to address their Human Capital challenges.
Meantime, here’s a brief video with an overview of the 2013 survey results. Notice that one of the first things The Conference Board’s CEO says is that, while the top 3 CEO challenges are distinct, “the people thread runs through all three of them.”
